Our Mission

Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself where she may have her young (Psalm 84:3).
Sparrow's Nest is a faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to helping low-income families, homeless women, and their children achieve homeownership.
We provide support, education, and mentoring in essential life skills. Our comprehensive program includes goal setting, decision making, budgeting, and parenting, fostering accountability and self-sufficiency. Through structured support, we aim to break the cycle of dependency and empower families to own affordable homes.
Our Approach

“We take low-income families under our wing and create homeowners.”
Our mission is carried out through a comprehensive four-part strategy:

Surround the Family
We offer ongoing support from a trained mentor who provides personalized, direct counseling to each mother or family. If desired, we also offer an “Encourager” to each child in the program.

Provide Structured Education and Mentoring
Through weekly group classes, we provide structured training and mentoring in life skills such as goal setting, decision-making, budgeting, and parenting.

Encourage Accountability
We help the Sparrow’s Nest families meet their goals, encouraging accountability and self-sufficiency. Participants selected for the program must demonstrate readiness to adopt the behaviors and attitudes that support their success.

Offer Homeownership
We offer families the opportunity to complete the Sparrow’s Nest program and earn a home they can afford to own.

How We Work
Sparrow’s Nest partners with churches to fund home purchases and create ministry opportunities for volunteers that support each family’s journey toward homeownership.
Together, we help homeless families break the cycle of dependency.
